  8. Reports total memory (RAM), free memory, and used memory.  All blocks of 
  9. free memory are listed (not just the largest block), and freemem's own 
  10. memory (1768 bytes) is included in the largest block.

  12. According to freemem, a 520 ST with TOS 1.4 contains 430190 bytes of free 
  13. RAM if it is loaded without auto programs or desk accessories.  94098 bytes 
  14. are used by TOS (including 32767 bytes for screen RAM).

  17. 520st, 1040st, 2megst, 4megst
  18. =============================

  20. These programs reconfigure STs to a lower memory specification (by changing 
  21. system variables).  This is useful for checking program compatibility on 
  22. machines with several megabytes of memory.  To return your ST to its 
  23. original configuration you can either coldboot or run the appropriate 
  24. program (1040st on a 1040 etc.)  These programs restart your computer, so 
  25. you should save ramdisks etc. before running them.
